All the SIP Features

By using the Intertex Internet Gate and the SIP Switch addition you will enjoy all the SIP features, instead of the just somewhat cheaper telephony that is offered by most VoiP SIP Services today. You will be able to reach all Internet connected SIP users for free and enjoy new features like video, presence, instant messaging, file exchange, and application sharing.

Connect to all Internet connected SIP users for free
You will be able to reach all the Internet connected SIP users around the world free of charge (you are already paying for your broadband connection). Make sure that the people you want to reach has a real SIP address and that they are located behind SIP capable firewalls.

Interoperability with (to and from) the plain old telephone system (POTS)
You can not only reach people having SIP addresses, you can also reach anybody who has a regular telephone number. This is usually done through PSTN gateways provided by your SIP Service Provider.

Lower cost to regular telephones
Since large parts of the calls made are routed over Internet instead of over PSTN, the telephony costs will be much lower, especially if you make many international calls.

Voice and video communication
Not only will you be able to talk to others over IP, you will be able to see them as well. To enjoy this feature you only need a SIP PC client with a headset and a web camera.

Presence
This feature will let you see when other people using SIP are are online and available for communication and when they are not. Likewise, they will be able to see when your presence information, e.g. if you have gone out for lunch or are talking on the phone.

Instant messaging, file exchange, application sharing
You can communicate through messages (chat) or share files and applications in real-time with people who are online. For example, share a Word document stored on your computer with a colleague, without him having the Word program installed himself.

Email-like address as well as ordinary telephone number
You can get a SIP adress that looks exactly like your email address (e.g. john@smartco.com). You can also have a regular telephone numbers assigned to your SIP address so that people using PSTN can call you (and also makes it easier for people using SIP telephones).

Same number/address wherever you are
People will be able to reach you on the same address/number wherever you are. Just connect to a broadband socket and you will be able to communicate with your SIP address from that location.

Use software and/or hardware phones
You can use either a software client installed on your PC or a SIP telephone connected to your network to communicate.
